Weighloss is a battle for me....one that I keep losing!! I am what you would call an unmotivated yo-yo dieter. I have tried so many different things, some have worked and others have not. I guess if I would have tried a little harder I would have got better results. I can't blame the diets, it's all me. I need to make that lifestyle change and I know this. I am trying.
My last weight gain was due to the fact that I met a new guy....the whole new dating thing that resulted in eating at every restaurant you could think of and a few more. I had just lost 9 pounds when we met. Let's say those 9 pounds returned and brought 7 more friends with them. 16 pounds in 6 months!! I should be ashamed of myself!! I am taking a stand and I refuse to buy clothes to accomodate for this. I can't afford it, point blank. I have to do something.
I read an article recently that inspired me. A woman cut out eating whites, white bread, potato's, rice and all those other great tasting white things and went down 3 pants sizes in one year. That sounds like a task, but it's a start. What I am adding to that is cutting out or should I say limiting my red meat consumption. That's gonna be a killer!! I would also like to eat everything green, lettuce, greens, broccoli and asparagus. So, basically, my dinner meals for the last few days have been grilled fish, a green vegetable and salad. Lunch is usually the hard part. I don't know how I will get a grasp on that. I snack on fruits at work. I love apples, bananas and grapes.
Exercise.....I don't know why I don't do it. Oh, yes I do. I hate working out when that guy is at my house. He is always there and needs constant attention or he acts like a little kid. I guess he doesn't understand that there are some things that I would like to do alone and he doesn't always need to be there. I got a few tips out of the September issue of O Magazine. I need to fall back in love with my treadmill. I am going to try and start that today. Honestly, because I say that everyday. I am going to start with my 15 minute mile and work up from there. I used to do 3 miles a day. I wish I still could. That's a lot for me since I never was a big exercise kind of person. I need to get healthy.
I am not trying to be one of those really skinny girls that looks sick....I just want to improve my health. If I don't get it under control now it is only going to be worse in the future and I can develop all sorts of health issues. I am trying to get healthy one day at a time.
